Service Biography
Hector Lepage was born at St. Louis de Gonzague, Quebec, and was living in Montreal when he was drafted under the Military Service Act in 1918. An engineer by occupation, he enlisted on 11 May 1918 and went overseas that summer. After service with Canadian reserve units in England, he joined the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles Battalion in France. He returned to Canada in March 1919 and was discharged at Montreal on 20 March 1919 following demobilization.

Additional Service Notes
Hector Lepage was drafted under the Military Service Act, 1917 and enlisted at Montreal on 11 May 1918 with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment. He embarked from Canada on 26 June 1918 and arrived at Liverpool on 15 July. He was taken on strength of the 10th Canadian Reserve Battalion at Bramshott on 23 July. On 8 November he was transferred out of the 10th Reserve Battalion for the 23rd Canadian Reserve Battalion and onward posting to the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles Battalion. The casualty form documents his movement through the 23rd Reserve Battalion and joining the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles in the field in France during November 1918. On 8 February 1919 he was granted eight days' leave to the United Kingdom. He sailed from Liverpool for Canada on 8 March, was taken on strength of District Depot No. 4 at Montreal on 18 March, and was discharged there on demobilization on 20 March 1919.
