Service Biography

Oscar Pilon was born on 12 December 1895 at Valleyfield, Quebec. A bookkeeper and Roman Catholic, he was single and named his brother Lucien Pilon of Valleyfield as next of kin. Drafted under the Military Service Act, he was taken on strength at Calgary on 7 December 1917 as a Private with the 1st Depot Battalion, Alberta Regiment, Canadian Expeditionary Force. His recruit form records him absent from 25 May 1918, and his surviving service file is identified as a deserter-discharge file. No overseas service is documented.
