Anna Elizabeth Whitely was born at Manners Corners, Ontario, on 27 May 1871. A nurse and Methodist living at 349 Piccadilly Street in London, Ontario, she entered Canadian Army Medical Corps nursing service in June 1916. As a Nursing Sister she served overseas with No. 10 Canadian Stationary Hospital and was later attached for temporary duty to No. 14 General Hospital at Wimereux, France. She was admitted there dangerously ill with an abdominal tumour on 17 March 1918 and died on 21 April 1918.
