She was the daughter of John & Elizabeth Mellett (nee Conway) who ran The Ivy House, a hotel/boarding house at Roundstone, Galway, Ireland.

Saskatchewan Virtual War Memorial Henrietta Mellett came to Canada on the Empress of Britain in August 1908. She was travelling with Rev. Richard Bowen, his wife Susan and son Richard JUr. They were headed to London, Ontario. She is listed as Hetty Mellet (see http://data2.collectionscanada.gc.ca/e/e144/e003591769.jpg )
