Additional Service Notes

Flying a Martinet Mercury on 31 January 1944 at 15.10 Hours from Pennycae 3 miles north east of Port Talbot on a non Operational Aircraft Test Flight encountered conditions of poor visibility amongst hill tops. In an endeavour to get clear Aircraft struck the side of mountains head at 670 ft. The accident report states that there was no reason for the pilot to be in the area that he crashed. Witnesses say that the engine had stopped prior to the crash.
