Service Biography

Lucien Joseph Alfred Doutre was born at Sainte-Martine, Quebec, on 29 December 1911. A driver-mechanic, he enlisted in the Canadian Army at Montreal South on 27 April 1943 and served in Canada as a Private. His postings included No. 4 District Depot, Training Centre No. 47 at Valleyfield and A-12 Canadian Infantry Training Centre at Farnham. During his service he received permission to marry Aline Prud'homme, who was later recorded as his wife and next of kin. A congenital medical condition led to his reclassification for discharge, and he was discharged at Montreal South on 13 February 1944 as unable to meet the required military physical standards. His documented awards include the War Service Badge, General Service Class, and the War Medal 1939-1945.
