Service Biography

George Hugh Smith of Ormstown enlisted at Montreal on 12 September 1939 and served as a Private with the 9th Field Ambulance, Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. He went overseas in December 1939 and served in the United Kingdom until illness led to his return to Canada in July 1940. He was medically discharged at Montreal on 10 September 1940. Smith died at Barrie, Ontario, on 22 October 1989, aged 73.
