Additional Next of Kin Notes

Wife/next-of-kin naming is inconsistent within the file. The attestation types 'Mrs. odila Macelliotte' (spelling as read); the index/separation-allowance records use Odila Lecompte; the family particulars form clearly writes Florida Gaudet Lecompte. The file does not explain whether these are clerical errors, alternate given names, or surname variants, so all are preserved. The family form records no children. His father was deceased; his widowed mother was alive in Montreal and Louis stated he was her sole support and had given her his whole wages before enlistment. Other source forms record variants including 'Mrs. odila Macelliotte' on the attestation and 'Florida Gaudet Lecompte' on the family particulars form.
