Service Biography
Armand Pinsonneault was born at St-Barbe, Quebec, on 30 December 1896 and worked as a farmer. Drafted under the Military Service Act, he entered service on 15 July 1918 and was transferred to the Canadian Engineers as a Sapper. A July 1918 deserter notation was later formally cancelled by military order. On 26 August 1918 he joined the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment as a Private. His service remained in Canada, and he was demobilized at Montreal on 12 February 1919 under the Farmers Leave procedure.

At calling up he was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. The recruit form gives a fully expanded chest measurement of 34 inches with 2 inches expansion. A later Medical History Sheet records his weight as 137 pounds.

Armand Pinsonneault, a farmer from St-Barbe, Quebec, was drafted under the Military Service Act and entered service on 15 July 1918. He was transferred to the Canadian Engineers and served as a Sapper at the Engineer Training Depot. A contemporary pay certificate recorded him struck off strength on 19 July 1918 as a deserter. The corresponding AWOL and S.O.S.-as-deserter entries on his casualty form were later crossed out and formally cancelled by After Order 33 dated 5 May 1923. On 26 August 1918 he joined on enlistment with the 2nd Depot Battalion, 2nd Quebec Regiment, as a Private. He remained in Canada and was demobilized at Montreal on 12 February 1919 under the Farmers Leave procedure.
