Monday afternoon, at three o'clock, the stores closed and the streets were lined with spectators to see a procession of boys and girls each carrying a flag, and headed by the band, march through the streets in honor of the second anniversary of the battle of Ypres, were Canadian soldiers so distinguished themselves. The procession ended at the park, where 5 minute speeches were made by the mayor, Rev. H. Godard, J. B. MacLean and I. Norman, while the children sang several patriotic songs, which, as were the speeches, so imperfectly heard owing to the high wind that prevailed. The band remained at the park till five o'clock. A base ball match between the academy and a picked up team from the village endeavored to play a game, which was more were less of a burlesque.
