Letters From the Front

We have plenty of work here, but it is a great rest after the Somme, and we hope to stay here for a time at least. Looking back over the events of the past six weeks, one cannot describe the situation clearly-it is all a nightmare. You will have had some splendid accounts of those stirring times from the Canadian papers. W. W. Davis , of the Bank, is still with us and has done excellent work; has been recommended for the Military Cross. I certainly hope he gets it. D. Davis , also of the Commerce, is at present in England and has just completed a course for officers. His standing was exceptionally high. I occasionally run across Commerce men here, and am always glad to see them.
