Accidental death of Pte. A.J. Hale near Cochrane, Ontario

Killed at Cochrane

Private J. Hale, of the 48th Highlanders, Toronto, while on his way with prisoners to the prison farm, fell off the end car of the train, and received such severe injuries that he expired shortly after being removed to Cochrane. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner.
