Landed in England

The arrival of S.S. Hesperian in England safely will be cause of rejoicing in a number of Temiskaming homes, as on board this ship were about a dozen boys from the north who had been drafted from the 37^th as reinforcements for regiments now on active duty. The quota was in charge of Lieut. R.W. Stevenson, who was prominently connected with the Temiskaming soldiers while they were putting in their preliminary training at the Haileybury armories, and amongst the northerners are Privates F.P. Bilow, and W.Beswetherick, of New Liskeard; Privates Blakeman, Ritchie, Bullie, Haybillie, Hilts, Cobalt; Privates Brown, Curry, Hume, Simpson, Haileybury, besides other northern men, including, Lieut. A.J. Haldane, Corp. J.J. Donnelly, Corp. T. Morris, Privates Daniels, Anderson, Gold, Lepage, Shieds, F. Simpson, Smith, Wholly, Beland, Brezeau.
