Dated: December 31, 1915
Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Clark, of Hilliardton, have received a cable from France, informing them that their son Bruce had passed away, as the result of illness, in one of the French hospitals. Private Clark enlisted from New Liskeard with the 37
th Battalion last summer, and later was drafted with Privates
Beswetherick,
Bilow and others as reinforcements to the overseas forces, ultimately being attached to the 42
nd (Black Watch) Battalion, and while on duty with the Battalion had the important position of sharpshooter. The deceased is well known to the young people of the district, having been one of the earliest comers to Temiskaming, and his mother being a daughter of Mrs. Herron, who recently resided on Pine St. Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives in the loss of their soldier boy.
