Extract from “Liskeard News”

Word has been received by Mr. J.H. Brown of the death of his nephew, Pte. Howard Odlum who was killed in action. He was 19 years of age, and his home was in Vancouver. He was with the 1st Con. and in the 7th Batt.

Pte. Howard Odlum's actual date of death was 15 August 1917. It is believed that this news story is referring to Cpl. J.W. Odlum, who was killed 24 April 1915.
