Extract from "Liskeard News"

We understand that Mining Inspector J. G. McMillan, has accepted a commission in Major Rodgers' Pioneer Battalion which has recently enlisted so many Temiskaming boys. Mr. McMillan has been an excellent citizen, liked by all with whom he has been associated, and the good wishes of hosts of friends will accompany him in his efforts for King and Country at the front.

"Major Rodgers' Pioneer Battalion" appears to be No. 1 Tunnelling Company.
