Dear Mother and Father:
Just a line to let you know I am okay, and hope you are both feeling better. Well, everything is coming on fine here. I only hope it is all over this fall, because I don't like the idea of putting in another winter here, but I can if I have to. I am sending you some more souvenirs of Fritz's in this letter. I won't write much, as it is nearly supper time and I have a lot of little things to do. I think I will be getting my leave before long. I will get some good pictures taken then and send you some. I told you in one of my letters, that I had been recommended for a decoration. Well, I was called up to the orderly room the other day and presented with the military medal, so I think I'm getting on pretty well in this war, what do you think? I haven't got the metal yet, I just have the ribbon. When I get the medal I will send it to you.
Well I can say bye-bye, write soon.
Your loving son, Private E. F. Tobin
