Letters From the Front

Dated: May 16, 1917

Bramshott Camp, May 16, 1917

Dear People:-

     Just a line to catch the next Canadian mail.  We are still in this quarantine camp and expect to be here for a couple of days yet.  We are all looking forward to having a good hot bath as such a thing is impossible here.

     This afternoon (Wednesday) we had an afternoon for sports and had a couple of games of ball.

     We are having fine weather although it is rather changeable.  Yesterday was very warm and today is quite cool.  We haven’t had any rain yet however and we have plenty of blankets so we manage to keep warm all right.

     We haven’t received any Canadian mail yet but expect it any day now.  Everybody is looking forward to it and we will be very disappointed if it doesn’t come soon.

     They say that if you are seasick you feel much better after you land and I think it is true.  I have never felt so good or had such a large appetite since coming over here.

     Well I haven’t much news this time so will close.  Write often
