PREPARING A WELCOME FOR SOLDIERS' BRIDES

The news that thirty thousand British brides of Canadian soldiers overseas are, in various groups, about to commencetheir journey to their new homes in Canada, has set those in charge of repatriation thinking. It is realized that many of them will be in dire need of a helping hand when they arrive.  In the vast majority of cases they will be unaccompanied by their husbands, and not a few will have no friends to meet them upon their arrival in a strange land, with the very climate of which they are unacquainted.  Dr. George H. Locke, who is connected with repatriation work, left for Ottawa last night and will present this problem to the authorities.  It is expected, also, that some women's organization will set about taking up this important work of extending a much-needed welcome to these young women.
